Hi Chris, thanks for the feedback. We've been fairly deliberate in keeping the core framework small; separating out features like camera and file pickers that don't need to be tied to the underlying framework allows us to iterate on them gives us more flexibility to release updates without needing to ship a whole new version of Flutter.

Sorry that you're feeling broken-hearted. We're an open source project, but we don't have infinite resources, and we focus our own engineering efforts into areas that might be tougher for others to contribute to.
